Queensland Academy of Sport

Olympic Sport
Talent Identification

Do you thrive on competition and pushing your limits? Are you ready to showcase your athletic abilities on the global stage? Do you have the passion to represent Queensland and Australia?

Aspiring athletes must be the age mentioned below at the time of testing:

Aged 13 to 23 years in 2023 (born 2000-2010)

The Queensland Academy of Sport is partnering with 15 Olympic National Sporting Organisations in one of the world’s largest multi-sport talent identification programs.

Our talent search days are intended to test your general athleticism to match you with the sport/s in which you have a high potential to succeed at the highest level. Our friendly, professional team of dedicated sport scientists will put you through your paces to gauge your strength, speed, stamina, power and mental toughness.

Remember, each of our partner sports are looking for different attributes, so you don’t need to be the best in every test. Each sport also has different ages of peak performance – that is, the age at which athletes tend to have the most success. If you’re within our testing age range (13-23), that means that there is a sport that is specifically looking for your age group. Just as some sports are ‘early specialisation’ (such as those included in our Daredevils search), others are seeking more mature athletes.

If you think you have the courage and athleticism to soar above the competition, and the determination to reach new heights in your sporting career, this could be the first step in your Olympic Journey!

Testing has concluded for 2023. Information about our 2024 Talent Search will be available late 2023.

Tested in 2023? Selection notifications are due by the end of August 2023.
